Wetpour Surface is the most popular form of safety surfacing for children’s playgrounds as it offers an ideal shock absorbent surface that prevents major injuries from falls. It’s also durable, porous and easy to maintain. It’s ideal for school playgrounds, parks and childcare centres. It’s a great alternative to loose-fill rubber as it doesn’t have any gaps where biological garbage and other debris can get lodged.
Wet Pour Surface is a two layer system consisting of a SBR base and an EPDM wearing course layer. The SBR is recycled bonded rubber using former truck tyres and the EPDM is made from a synthetically manufactured recycled Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer rubber. Both of these layers are blended together with a polyurethane binder on site and poured over an existing suitable and graded base.
