Understanding NDIS Support Coordination

During a planning meeting, a good NDIS support coordinator will work with the participant to establish their goals, needs and aspirations and develop an action plan. This will include an outline of the key areas that a participant may require assistance with (including informal supports, mainstream services, and funded supports) and a schedule of how these are to be delivered.

Ideally, the support coordinator will be available to assist with implementation of this action plan. It’s also the support coordinator’s job to help participants understand the broader range of community, government and funded supports that are available to them.

They should also be able to provide any relevant report requested by the participant or NDIA.
