Why Choose Theatre Style Seating?

Posted on March 7, 2024March 15, 2024 By briandeady No Comments on Why Choose Theatre Style Seating?

When it comes to planning an event, the choices of seating arrangement can be overwhelming. There are so many options – do you seat people in rows like an auditorium or in the U shape of classroom style? The answer really depends on the goals of your event. If you are presenting a lecture or presentation then theatre style seating is the ideal choice for an unobstructed view of the stage. This format works well for events such as TEDTalks and Cvent CONNECT and is also ideal for conferences and other large-scale presentations.

Using theatre style seating in a venue that already has rows of seats can help you make the most of your space and increase your guest capacity. This seating style also allows for the use of a central table, ensuring that all attendees have an opportunity to take notes and interact with the presenter during a talk or presentation.

Elevating the Viewing Experience: Advantages of Theatre-Style Seating

This style of seating can be arranged in several ways, depending on your room and your audience size. A thrust layout is one option, where the audience sits on three sides of a stage and can see the performers at all times. Another option is a platform stage, which can have a level or raked sloping floor and seats on all sides.

Premium seats, which are located in the uppermost row of a theatre are often considered the best seats in the house. These seats are 12 to 15 inches higher than the other rows and give you a better view of the stage.
