To use the Mega Patch, you must first have a Special Battle Chip or Patch Card loaded into your game. Special Battle Chips were given away through events and other means, while Patch Cards were sold separately from the games around their original releases.

To load a Mega Patch, simply open your ROM in a modded PGE and select the Pokemon you wish to have mega evolve, then choose its corresponding Mega Stone in the item section of the menu. After that, just start the battle and the Pokemon will revert to its original non-mega form at the end of the fight!
